Delft University of Technology survey

Delft University of Technology conducted a survey during the months of November and December 2010 into the acceptance of hydrogen for powering cars, buses and trucks. It covered the whole of the Netherlands, but special attention was paid to Arnhem, of course, because residents in the vicinity of the new filling station were also approached.

"The survey mainly asked questions that were intended to give insight into what the populace knew about hydrogen and what their opinion of the new fuel was", says researcher Nicole Huijts, who drew up the survey. "The opinions of the local residents in Arnhem about the presence and the safety of the new hydrogen filling station were sounded out, of course. We hope that the survey will give us a picture of the attitude of the population with respect to hydrogen applications. Being able to transport hydrogen on a large scale requires an active encouragement policy on the part of the government and major investment by the business world, as well as support and acceptance on the part of the population and the private motorist."

HyMove will possibly be able to use the results of the survey to improve the education of the population and to make good information about the use of hydrogen available.
