Milieu2011 successful for HyMove

The Stichting Waterstof Onderneming Gelderland received many positive reactions during the Milieu2011 trade fair, which was held in the Brabanthallen in s-Hertogenbosch from 4 to 6 October.

 The Stichting Waterstof Onderneming Gelderland received many positive reactions during the Milieu2011 trade fair, which was held in the Brabanthallen in ’s-Hertogenbosch from 4 to 6 October. The institute and its hydrogen bus were nominated for the Milieu 2011 Innovatieprijs [Environmental Innovation Award 2011] and were awarded the second prize.

Jan van Beckhoven, director of the Stichting Waterstof Onderneming Gelderland, was very happy with its participation in the event: “We gave an explanation of the bus during the trips from the station and the fair site. The journeys regularly ended with the passengers applauding. There was a great deal of interest in the technology used in the bus, and in particular in the special wheel drive. The fair was a good opportunity for us to make contact with various municipalities that are in the initial stages of the process of introducing emission-free buses. Our nomination for the Milieu 2011 Innovatieprijs made the fair even more successful for us.”

The HyMove bus was used during the fair to carry visitors back and forth between the station and the Brabanthallen, and so allowed the passengers to become acquainted with the HyMove project and to experience what it is like to ride in a bus running on hydrogen. The bus made a total of 130 trips and carried 4000 passengers in all. The Stichting Waterstof Onderneming Gelderland was on Stand 550 during the fair, from which it handed out information about the technology used in the bus and about the fuel cell system and the wheel drive in particular. The wheel was the biggest attraction on the stand.
